Can God Trust You With Souls?

In a generation chasing applause, platforms, and personal glory, the call to missions still whispers the same ancient truth: die to self so Christ may be seen. Being a missionary is not merely traveling to nations or standing behind a pulpit. It is surrender. It is carrying the burden of heaven for people who may never know your name. The world celebrates self-promotion, but the Kingdom honors sacrifice. Jesus never hid the cost of following Him. In Luke 9:23, He said the following: “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” Missionary life is built on that scripture. It is waking up each day and saying, “Lord, not my will, but Yours.” Can God trust you with souls? That question goes deeper than talent, charisma, or title. God is not merely looking for gifted people; He is looking for yielded hearts. Men and women who will pray when nobody sees, serve when nobody applauds, and love people even when it costs them comf...

Called to Go: Discovering Purpose in God’s Mission

Sometimes the call to mission doesn’t arrive as a loud voice or dramatic moment. Often, it begins as a quiet stirring, a desire to help, to serve, to make faith meaningful in everyday life. In the Bible, God is always reaching out to people. He called Abraham to be a blessing, Isaiah to be a messenger, and the disciples to share hope with the world. This shows that mission starts with God’s love, not human ambition. Believers simply join what God is already doing (John 3:16; Matthew 28:19–20). Being “called to go” doesn’t always mean traveling far. It can mean showing kindness to a neighbor, mentoring a young person, or living with integrity at work. Mission begins where you are. Small acts of love can carry eternal impact. Many people discover their role in mission by noticing three things: Their gifts (what they do well) Their compassion (what burdens their heart) God’s guidance through prayer and wise counsel Yes, there can be fears, feeling unqualified or uncertain. Yet Scripture s...

Why Missionary TRAINING Still Matters Today

When many hear the word "missionary", they think of stories from centuries back, men and women who left their homes to take the gospel to unknown lands. But missions is not history. It is today.  And it is the future.  Right here at the Nigeria Evangelical Missionary Institute (NEMI), Jos, I am experiencing firsthand how vital mission training is. We are being shaped not just in bible-knowledge, but also in character, cross-cultural understanding, and practical skills for ministry.  Why does this matter?  Because the world is more connected than ever, yet still deeply divided. Ethnic groups, languages, and cultures remain unreached with the gospel. Training helps us enter these communities with wisdom, humility, and unity like the early church did in Acts.  Missions is not always about "going far away". It is firstly about serving faithfully wherever God places us either across the street, or across the world.  And that preparation is what NEMI provide...
